I'm going to make a post when I get back to Florida in the Dining Out Forum but for now here's a little information and a few pictures from a visit DW Fran & I made to VeraBlue's Red Gravy restaurant today in New Orleans. The Red Gravy, 125 Camp St., is located just off Canal St. on the eastern edge of the business district and in golf terms is only a three iron away from the French Quarter. VB had her eatery sporting Christmas decorations and in person it looked even better than all the pix she has previously posted. It is warm and comfortable and the food, magnificent. Roseann can REALLY cook.

Vera - time to show off. Oh damn, I didn't get a picture of the bread pudding with raisin sauce, ummm butter sauce..... I forget. Vera get in this thread and make a full description. Your food is better than excellent and I truly mean that.
 
great pics...i hope to visit her place around Mardi Gras, i will be working in the area.

Acme Oyster is good but not sure its worth that long of a wait..lol
 
What a treat! Thanks so much for sharing with us, Buzz! Vera, you look fabulous, and Buzz, you and gorgeous Franny look terrific. And the food! Was that meatloaf? Oh, everything just looks so yummy. Wish I could be there, too!!!
 
Buzz!!!! And Fran, how beautiful you are!! What a treat meeting both of you. You know, when you phoned, it took me a moment to put the names to the call, and I apologize for that! When you said 'Buzz', I was wondering why Buzz Aldren was calling me, of if you were Buzz Lightyear, again, wondering why he was calling me.

Buzz and Fran had an order of Pasta with Red Gravy with two Meatballs, which is served with a signature slice of garlic bread. Also, an order of the days' special meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I felt the mashed were a bit heavy on the salt, and I apologize for that. I had some broccoli left from the weekend special, so I breaded and fried that. I also had a bananas foster bread pudding which I served with a maple walnut sauce.

It was so nice to meet Buzz and Fran. When a photo op came up, naturally, I had a red gravy stain on my jacket, so my hand is covering it.

So sorry about the Acme line, it's always like that. Wish I could get some of those people out of the Quarter and into my seats!!

You all looked great and the food looked scrumptious. One of these days I hope to be able to try it for myself. :D

Red Gravy is much more than awesome. Our VeraBlue has her heart in that shop and I'll tell you from my heart that if you ever get anywhere near New Orleans go and get the lunch of your life, and meet the lovely person who made it a realty.
 
we're figuring march 2 get over 2 new orleans! my luved ones & i have chit chatted on this often, yay!!
 
Wouldn't matter if you told me or not... Buzz gave me a head's up, too. But, when he called, I was completely in another head space.
