CRAP !!

Tennis first introduced a formal "challenge system" using Hawk-Eye technology to review officiating decisions in 2006.

The Hawk-Eye system was developed by British computer scientist Paul Hawkins and his team at Roke Manor Research. The system uses multiple high-speed cameras to track the trajectory of a ball in real time, providing highly accurate visualisations and data. It made its debut as a challenge system at the 2006 Hopman Cup. The first Grand Slam to implement Hawk-Eye challenges was the 2006 US Open, revolutionising the sport by allowing players to challenge up to three line calls per set (with an additional challenge in a tie-break).
