There IS a COUNTY in Tennessee named after him, but the town of Crockett is in Texas.
Crockett is the county seat of the oldest county in its state and is also near the large Davy Crockett National Forest just to the east. The area's connection to Crockett himself may be somewhat tenuous, but apparently he had camped nearby on his way to the Alamo. Interestingly enough, Houston is in Harris County, not Houston County. Crockett is the fifth-oldest city in Texas and the county seat of Houston County, which is the oldest county in Texas.
