"Love & Mercy" poignantly documents Brian Wilson's genius in the creation of the seminal 1960's Beach Boys album "Pet Sounds" as well as his struggle with mental health, his fight to get away from a destructive father, and to escape a controlling, manipulative therapist. Paul Dano and John Cusack play the younger and older Brian Wilson respectively. Wilson wrote a new song for the film: "One Kind of Love". ("Surfin' USA", and "God Only Knows" are Beach Boys songs.)
