TRUTH !!

The Standing Liberty quarter was first minted in 1916. Designed by Hermon Atkins MacNeil, the obverse shows Lady Liberty standing, holding a shield and pen. Her gown falls off her shoulder, revealing her right breast. In 1917, the design was modified, and Lady Liberty's modesty was restored by having her wear a vest of chain mail under her gown. Contemporary accounts show that the public "outrage" was actually quite limited. Only 52,000 of the coins were minted in 1916, making them very valuable to collectors today. The Standing Liberty quarter continued to be minted through 1930.
