Jimi Hendrix's rendition of "All Along the Watchtower" was his only recording to reach #1 on the Billboard charts.

CRAP !!

Shockingly, "All Along the Watchtower" is the only song recorded by Hendrix that made Billboard's Top 40 chart in the US, but it got only as high as number 20.

Dylan recorded the song in 1967 for his classic album, "John Wesley Harding", but did not release it as a single. Hendrix recorded the song for his 1968 album "Electric Ladyland" and released it as a single as well.
