TRUTH !!

One full lap on a standard track is 400 meters, 440 yards. Every race is therefore a fraction or incremental of that 400 meters. Hurdles are raced in three increments, 100/110 (women's vs. men's), 300 meters (beginning at the start of the back stretch) and the full 400 meters. Relay teams also race increments of that 400 meters, the 4x100 is 100 meters each for one full lap collectively, the 4x200 is 200 each for two full laps collectively, 4x400 is each athlete running one full lap 1600 meters collectively (roughly a mile), and lastly the 4x800 with each athlete running two laps for 3200m collectively.
