CRAP !!

Afghanistan's ruling party, the Taliban, ordered demolition experts to blow up the Great Buddhas of Bambilyan, carved in the 5th century, as part of a systematic program to destroy all non-Islamic monuments. At 175 feet and 120 feet, respectively, the twin monuments were two of Asia's greatest archeological treasures.

In 2004 Tsunami, a train was destroyed with more than 1700 people at Peraliya in Sri Lanka. Only 900 bodies were recovered, as others had been washed away into the sea by the time help arrived.
To mark the disaster, a Buddha statue was built. It was a model of the destroyed Bamiyan statues in Afghanistan. Every year on the tsunami day people perform religious rituals there in memory of those who died.
