CRAP !! The funeral was held on 29 March 1827 at the parish church in Alsergrund, and he was buried in the Währing cemetery, northwest of Vienna. Many thousands of citizens lined the streets for the funeral procession. As with all crowds, estimates vary, with witnesses reporting anywhere from 10,000 to 30,000 onlookers.

My aunt was one of those who flew in the original 1929 Women's Air Derby, and was one of the 14 who actually completed it.
She was later one of the original charter members of the women's pilots group called the 99's (there were 99 women who chartered it). Amelia Earhart was the first president. They still exist today, and my sister-in-law is a member.
