TRUTH !!

"The Old Farmer's Almanac" has been published continuously since 1792. It contains a plethora of information about moon phases, the best days for fishing, advice about the proper time for planting crops, and weather predictions, as well as a number of entertaining articles in each edition. Early readers would puncture a hole in the corner, so it could be hung from a nail in their outhouse; thus the almanac served a dual purpose: reading material and toilet paper. The practice was so common that in 1919 the publishers began pre-punching holes in the upper left-hand corner for the convenience of their readers. A proposal to eliminate the hole caused near universal outrage. There are still a lot of outhouses in the United States.
