Tirripaisti - Finnish Pork Flank Roast

500 g (1.1 lb) pork flank slices, boneless and skinless (also back bacon is ok)
1 onion
1 teaspoon allspice
water
pinch of salt


1. Chop the pork slices and put in an oven-proof casserole dish. Peel and chop the onion and add with the meat.
Add the salt and allspice. Bake in 250 degrees C / 480 degrees F oven until they are browned, about half an hour. At times, they need to be mixed.

2. Add water so that the meat is covered. Bake in oven at 150 degrees C/300 degrees F for about 3 hours.

3. You know that meats are cooked when the oven is spreading sweetish smell.


4. Serve "Tirri"-roast with boiled potatoes and mashed lingonberry and salad.
