I always - always - almost always line the bottom of my baking pans with parchment when I bake.
A tiny smear of grease in the bottom, then a layer of parchment, cut to fit. Then lightly butter the parchment, followed by a light dusting of flour or cocoa powder. Almost always.

Angel food and chiffon cakes are the exception. They need a dry tube pan for the eggs to 'climb'.
