here's one I just finished

so, what puts food on your table?

S Shepard that is an impressive knife.
What kind of wood is the handle?

Bam some of your previous posts have inspired me. I located the burner to convert my silver smoker to gas. I plan to rebuild the cheap undercarriage and concert to reverse flow.

I can relate to that Shep, being a retired sheet metal worker. Spinning steel can really cut bad.

Very, very nice. Show us lots of pictures.

Edit: Ya' know, when I joined up here at NCT, I thought I entered into the world of nice, quiet food hobbyists. Now I come to find out I am only one of a number of Harley ridin' skirt catchin' tequila swillin' knife wieldin' outlaws posing as gourmets. Anytime now I expect AllenOk to come bargin' in here to tell me the good fellas shot up his bistro! Oh, what have I done...?

Just to clarify.... I don't drink tequila anymore

I don't drink tequila or chase skirts, but I'm one of those Hog riding, knife wielding, outlaws posing as a gourmet!

S.S. can I have that knife? TIA!

Lee

P.S. I'm a nice, quiet food hobbiest who enjoys an occasional swig of tequila.

I thought I did by saying "what puts food on your table"..trying to be all food forum sneaky/ cunning linguist.
I need to learn to be more direct

I think it was understood.. BAM answered the question - he has a BBQ business

The knife is beautiful.

to answer the question

Architect/City Planner

edit to add: the only bike I have has pedals...:sorry:

My dad taught me how to shoot and had a motorcycle, and my mom taught me about knives. I love to run with the outlaws, too. However, most of the outlaws are older now and a whole lot more mellow than they use to be. lol ;-)

Now that is so true Susan, I'm sure a lot more mellow than I used to be, ran with a bunch of the Bandidos out of Texas for a few years. Some good times but getting too old for that nonsense now.

Well, I wouldn't want to tangle with some of my friends despite their age but most of them agree with you. They are too old for that nonsense now. The sad part is that they are dying out on me! The lived hard and are dying relatively young.

I'm with you, Joe. My buddy Rumsey (real name) and I had reputations that were known world wide in Marine Corps aviation and a lot of it carried over into the airlines. It's time to relax and enjoy life without being looked at from the corners of eyes....

Be careful Sushi, you might actually catch one like a dog chasing a car till he gets run over by it.

OK I'll play. Out of high school into the Sheet Metal apprentice program, interrupted for a bit over a year due to duty to country and back to sheet metal work for the next 17 years. I then opened a karate school in Texas with a partner and a year later started a body guard service for oil executives which then moved back into government work. I then did 3 years as a courier/body guard/security trouble shooter for the government followed by 5 years of retirement due to injuries. I then got bored and went back to school picking up a computer science degree working a year as as an independent computer consultant for Dade County Florida followed by 8 years for Dade County Public Schools, teaching teacher how to run the software of the day. Due to Hurricane Andrew and other factors I then moved on to working for 5 years for Public Storage in Pompano Florida, 3 years for Extra Space Storage in West Palm Beach Florida and now my own place in Lexington Kentucky.

I had a few other jobs before finishing high school such as cleaning fish for tourist in my father's fishing camp in Big Pine Key, walking dogs at the 3 dog tracks that was in south Florida when I was a kid to a draftsman for a ship yard building yachts. I started studying karate when I was 16 years old and have never stopped.

I've lived most of my life in South Florida spending summers in Virginia as a kid. Moved to Texas in late '69 and leaving in late '80, moving back to Florida. Then moved in '84 to Louisiana for a year then back to Florida again. I moved to Lexington 5 years ago. My job for oil corps and the government lasted 3 years and I traveled the world, 94 countries total visited with a few for more that a few days.

Hmmm.....me likes knives....sharp things make my blood tingle...
