TGIFriday 1/20/2012 What's the eating plan?

🌹 Still trying to get it right.
My DD requested tuna salad sandwiches for dinner tonight. So tuna sammies and maybe a green salad and tomato soup. Snow expected tonight.

Any plans?

I had the best burger last night...meat seasoned with Weber Gourmet Burger Seasoning, secret sauce (mayo, mustard, ketchup all mixed together), purple onion, and pickles. I'll either have another tonight, or I might make a hamburger steak topped with onions.

Homemade big mac? Yours was probably, no most likely 100% BETTER than mcd's.

It all looks so good Jimmy!! BUT I am wondering where you got short fat rigs? I can only find the long skinny ones.

Love the ketchup, mustard, mayo combo on burgers. I do that, too! Yum!

Jimmy, your lunch and supper look great. Two of my favorites!

I had kielbasa, fried potatoes and onions and green beans.

This morning our local market had just received the freshest (not frozen & thawed) skinless haddock filets you'd ever want to see. Droolworthy for any seafood lover.

Had to buy a nice big filet & drenched it in fresh lemon juice, sprinkled it with Panko breadcrumbs, sprinkled it with chopped fresh dill, & dotted it with butter. Baked for 25 minutes @ 350. Man, was it GOOD.

Since the market also had jumbo-size heads of gorgious snow-white cauliflower, cooked half of that along with some organic baby carrots & folded them into some Knorr Hollaindaise Sauce. Man, was it GOOD.

Served with nice green salads. Man, was it GOOD. :)

peep...She got them at Anthony & Sons Bakery and deli store.

I like these because they have a great taste. They are very light macaroni, and not heavy. Mostly Semolina flour.

I don't know if you ever had Conte Luna macaroni? they are no longer available. LaRosa is another one but only as kids. Mom and Grandma always stocked up on Conte Luna Brand. the blue box with the man in the moon face on the box. hahahahaha

Nice looking dinners Jimmy and Nancy!

We had breakfast for dinner. Bacon, eggs, hash browns and toasted Italian Bread. No pics tonight.

looking good, guys! i think leftovers from last nite, w/ fresh potatoes tho.

i'll be cooking a skirt steak, too, to slice & frigerate. early next week is flooded w/ early appts. i'd like a grab & bolt food sliced/placed into baggies for breakfast on the way. i get cranky when i'm hungry & haven't snacked yet or drunk my usual absurd amt. of pop before i leave here.

Dry tuna and lettuce on multi-grain, sliced vine tomato and boiled, red potato with butter and seasoned with pepper and sea salt.

Paul is on his way home with Thai food. Sweet and sour for him and Tom Yum soup for me (with lots of veggies)! Yuuuummmmy!!!

I had kielbasa, fried potatoes and onions and green beans.

I need to make some fried taters, beans and kielbasa soon. We also like it with eggs. Yummy

That tater look so yummy LS.

We also had tuna salad sandwiches (with lots of lettuce on mine) for dinner with tomato soup.

Jimmy I have never seen that brand of pasta. Nor have I heard of the brand from your childhood with the man in the moon on the box.

When I was a child my mom would buy the 1/2 lb boxes of Buitoni pasta because they were high in protein. I wish you could still get the Buitoni dry pasta. They stopped making it. We had a Buitoni factory near us and every saturday we could smell them making the sauce. WOW did it smell good when the garlic and onions were cooking then the tomatoes would be added. It smelled like heaven all day! Then they closed and for short while you could get the pasta under the Contadina brand (formerly Buitoni on the label in smal print) then it disappeared for good. Afew years ago Buitoni came make but only the fresh pasta and sauces and I don't really like it.

Buitoni actually made a smart move marketing-wise.

Just look at the array of dry pasta these days - including pricey artisinal brands. For really "good" dry pasta, Barilla has cornered the market; second in line is De Cecco.

But Buitoni has definitely - at least for now - cornered the market re: fresh pasta.

Let's face it - in this economy, any port in a storm.
