There is a recipe in the Food Network Magazine, Oct. 2011, pg. 92 for Andrea's Cinnamon Raisin-Nut Toffee.
Excerpt: "Heat the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until it just begins to melt. Cook, swirling the pan but not stirring, until most of the sugar has melted, about 10 minutes."
By swirling the pan do they mean lifting the pan and moving it in circles?
