Strange Cat

Now as many of you know I took in a stray cat last week. Well she is working out really good with little scraps every once in a while with the rest of the herd however nothing serious.

Well this morning she did something I've never see a cat do before. I left the bathroom door open as I was taking my shower and she climbs into the tub and sits down under the shower head getting soaked. Now I did own a dog like this once but never a cat. Well when I got out of the shower she laid in there rolling around in the water and loving it. Strange animal to say the least. Oh and due to her coat of fur she was just a bit damp after a quick toweling and it 5 minutes was completely dry.

That's weird. My current cat used to poke his head into the shower now and then, but not actually get in. And I used to have a cat that was "cruising" through a foot of water when my basement got flooded one time in my old house. I went downstairs and there he was, checking out all the floating debris. He looked like a puma or something stalking something in the water.
I guess your cat likes water.

we had a cat that was similar to that..

we use to have an old claw tub and she would sit on the edge of it while we took baths. one day she fell in and from that day on, everytime we took a bath she would take a bath if we didnt close the bathroom door first. she loved being wet.

lol.. I too had a cat who loved baths! Everytime I took one she would jump right in. I think she was a little crazy. Her favorite food was canned peas and she played fetch better than any dog I ever had!!

Joec...some kittens are just weird. Enjoy yours!!! :) :) :)

My herd consists of 2 fixed males (brothers), an 18 year old unfixed female and this new one my official cat namer called Shadow that is a fixed female as well as de-clawed on her front feet. She is hardly a kitten though and later in the week we will take her to the vet to get shots and what ever else she might need. She is as tall as my dog and a bit longer than he is though I would guess about 10 lbs tops.

I adopted a cat who is Turkish Angora (mostly, anyway) - all white, soft long coat. Sometimes you see them in commercials. They are known to be swimmers. She enjoys playing outside in the fountain. You must have gotten a water lover, as well. They exist as others have already said.

Enjoy your new furbaby.

I posted her picture the other day but here it is again. She fits a the Russian Blue description perfection so my guess is this is her breed. She even has the double coat like a seal with the green eyes, long legs and medium boned. She also matches the personality of the breed perfectly also. My grandson named her Shadow which fits since she has become mine.

Now THAT is something my cats would NEVER do! I was going to take a shower so I closed the door and found out my cats snook in. Well screw it! Im taking a shower while they are in the room. One of em cried for the 10 minutes I was in there.

Now my two boys like to sit on the edge and look if someone it taking a bath or get between the shower curtains but never like getting water on them.

My two cats love to drink from the laundry tub faucet and don't mind getting wet even when the water is very cold. Sadie taught Celia but I do give them baths from time to time.

Now my cat named bird turns on the kitchen sink to get fresh water to drink when ever he wants some. Now if he would just learn to turn it off so I'm constantly going behind him. The rest including the dog drink out a kids training potty that we keep in the front bath room which is theirs. My dog's legs are too short to drink out of the toilet so it keeps them happy in that it looks like a small toilet.

Bizzarre

My cat and my Chi are water averse... my big dog loves the hose.... loves getting shot right in the face with it... but oddly hates baths in the bathtub

My dog is the same, loves puddles, show but hates baths. Now I should of know this cat was different as it showed up at my door last week while my wife was feeding the ferrule cats around here and we hadn't seen it before. It ran right up to her which is strange since you can't get near them usually. At any rate she was pretty dirty when my wife brought her in so took her straight to the tube and she didn't protest at all. It usually takes both of use one holding and the other washing to give one of our cats a bath. In her case she simply stood there and took it so it should of given me a clue but never expected her to just jump into a shower on her own.
