Spargel - the white asparagus - in German -

the white asparagus has a slightly different taste & flavor.
a pfund = 500 grams = "our pound" - with melted/drawn butter - a seasonal treat !

Ahhh...a definate favorite in our house. DW is from a small village in the Black Forest along the Rhein. When they aren't growing grapes they are growing spargel...Yum.
We used to miss it when we first moved to Canada but the last few years it is periodically available all winter long.
