Slow Cooker Green Apple Butter

In a nonstick slow cooker, add the following:
3 lbs Green apples (Granny Smith) cored, skinned and chopped
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c granulated sugar (I use coconut sugar)
3 Tbsp butter
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp table salt
1/2 c water
Mix all ingredients together and cover. Set slow cooker on low for 8 hrs
After 8 hrs, take off lid and mash with a potato masher to desired consistency.
Turn cooker on high and let mixture cook down 30-45 minutes with the lid off.
Let cool and place in containers.
Makes 1 pint.
