This makes the best drink in the world!!! I have people begging for it! Sadly the blackberry crop in Washington has been horrid the last few years so I haven't been able to make it. Blueberries and huckleberries are a good sub. 
16 cups FRESH berries
6 cups sugar
4 cups 100 proof vodka
water
Place the berries in a gallon glass jar.
Pour in the sugar...you may have to add more if the berries are not sweet!!!
Add the vodka and mix up really well. Don't worry about squishing the berries. This is a good thing!
Add water until the berries top the jar.
Stir easily until the sugar dissolves.
cover and let sit in
a nice cool dark place
for about six weeks. WAITING IS THE HARDEST PART!!!
After six weeks...
Strain through a strainer to get rid of the biggest chunks.
Then through a jelly bag or cheese cloth and finally a coffee filter... each step may have to be repeated a number of times. It takes a while but it's worth it to get a beautiful clear finished product.

Instead of adding water..you can add extra berries..
