i saw these slabs of himalayan pink salt while getting groceries the other day. we gathered that u put meats/etcetera on them during cooking via the info provided & the packaging. has anyone bought one before~
& if so, was the salt different than a plain 'ol sheet tray/grill/pan/etc~
thanx!

Luvs, I have seen them before but never used one. I have tried the pink salt
Himalayan salt, was nothing special for me. CF

i can differentiate between salts.
lee, i appreciate the link~ that's kinda how the block looks. i'm intrigued, too.
i'm gonna buy 1.
there is an info desk & chefs/cooks that demo by the display of them.
i'm gonna see if they have know-how on them, too.

We got a salt block in the back yard near the woods for the deer. They seem to like it a lot! It tastes like Heck to me.

DD bought a container of the Pink Salt Him-a lay-em kind!
We grind it (Pain to do) and whack it with a hammer to make salt crystals. We then dip cheese into it, and eat it. Some Good Beer, and wow!!!

I have 2 (50 lb.) mineral blocks for the deer and another for the cows. Being on a low sodium diet I can't imagine cooking on a slab of salt.

I have been using Sea Salt because they say that is the healthy salt that provides the minerals the heart needs.

If not that....we cook with Kosher Salt. If I eat too much salt, my ankles and feet swell up. This past Easter food like the Ham and the Kielbasi which are high in sodium, my feet and legs were swollen. I had to wear the special support socks, and they reduced the swelling. The right swells more than the left. that's because they cut the femoral artery, and T Tapped it to do the heart repairs through it.
Today, they have a special desolving plug to reseal it, but when I had it done, they pushed with a stick and a sand bag on top the stick. It narrowed the artery; so the right leg doesn't get enough blood flow like the left one does. that's why I take the aspirin every day / @ night!
