You may have seen this on the news… the man in question is my granddaughter’s other grandfather’s nephew. He and Grandma Kate are on their way to take him to a mental health facility in California. He also gave his niece his car then reported it stolen.

Police said the man told them he was doing well, and he wanted to share the money with others.

It was his parent‘s money. I can only speculate but imagine parents are to devistated. Aunt and uncle are extremely close, have strong Christian beliefs, and there for them.

Evidently it was close to $300K. It’s funny the bank didn’t question such a large withdrawal.

Withdrawls like that have to be requested days in advance around here. i was just getting 10 or 15k from a credit union and wanted cash. I had to give a full days notice. 200 or 300k sure should have been questioned by the bank. Holy moley.
Course keeping that much in any bank makes no sense to me either. But ...I'm sure there are reasons that I sure do not need to know.

Another thought ....could he have thrown out half the money and stashed the rest for himself somewhere and just said he tossed it all out?
