This recipe is from Spending with Pennies on Facebook. I think there is to much liquid but after also tan hour it smells divine.

2# round steak
8 oz. mushrooms sliced
onion diced, I sliced.
2 tbs olive oil to fry meat (messy)
1 tbs butter to sauté mushrooms and onions
salt and pepper
1 tbs Worcestershire
1/2 tsp thyme
2 1/4 cup low sodium beef broth
2 tbs corn starch

Hammer out steak to tenderize.

Fry steak, set aside. Sauté onions and mushrooms. Add steak to onions and mushrooms, add all ingredients except corn starch. Bake at 300°F for 2.5 to 3 hours till steak is tender. It may take longer for tougher meat. When done, take out steak then add cornstarch to make gravy. Serve on mashed potaoes.

Im making baked potatoes tonight… that’s it the way I remember it.

When my boys were home I made Swiss steak quite often. I floured the meat and baked it wit onions, no fluid. I’d make a flour and milk gravy with drippings. There was never any leftovers. This recipe is gluten free, much to my dismay.

It all came out very good. I did take the lid off for a long time and it cooked down. When I made the gravy I had to add the rest of the box of broth.
