I like this type of stuff. Around the holidays, I've always used a recipe for what we always called Texas Trash. The Texas Trash way calls for a lot more ingredients and a lot more time to prep and cook. This looks so easy and still looks good. I may have to try this.

All you have to do is mix it all up and shake it in a big bag.

This is really, but it's a great big pain. It's a calorie bomb too.

Here's my old way:

Texas Trash

Mix together:

11 oz slim pretzel sticks
6 oz Rice Chex
11 oz Kix
7 oz Cheerios

Mix together: 1 lb mixed nuts, 1/2 lb pecans, 1/2 lb peanuts

Mix together for sauce:

1 lb melted margarine
1 cup vegetable oil
4 tbs worcestershire sauce
2 tbs Accent
1 tsp celery salt
1 tbs garlic salt
1 tbs pepper sauce (vinegar pepper sauce like Trappey's)
2 tbs allspice
4 tsp red pepper

Place the cereal mixture in a large, shallow roasting pan. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over it and stir well. Place the pan in a cold oven, and then set the oven to 200. Bake for 30 minutes, mix in nuts, and then stir well scraping the bottom of the pan with a spatula. Bake for another 1 hour 45 minutes, stirring and scraping the bottom of the pan every 15 minutes.
