Rail Explorers Excursion

Today we traveled to Clay WV and experienced Rail Explorers first hand. What a fun time. We were there in Sept but it was raining so we got a rain check. The colors were close to peak today so we lucked out in the long run. Temps were in the mid 50's so we bundled up and had a blast. Next I'd love to do the Boone Iowa trip across that high old railroad bridge. Oh yeah. If you want to learn more go to

Was it just the two of you in the car? Was it difficult? Were you tired by the end?

Yes, we got the two seat car. They have a 4 seater. I drove the 2.5 hours of tricky mountain roads there and back home. Wife peddled. Only one person in the two or four seat car needs to peddle. A very neat engine that you peddle a little and it takes you a long way. Easy peddling ... well, easy for me to say. I have a bad knee, having surgery on it next week so no way I could do the peddling. She enjoyed it and said it was easy. She was not tired at the end. A really neat excursion.
