Anyplace that is not a chain that has good food and good liquor in or near Saint Charles, Illinois? Don't want to drive far.

Never mind, unless you have an idea for tomorrow night, Went to McNally's, met Rosie, the girl from Northern Ireland (nice girl in many ways). I had a few "Smitty's - a dark Irish beer on her recomendation. The others had regular American beers. Then we had pizza at Gino's east. And more beer.

So - what to do tomorrow evening? I'm thinking McNally's again for a few beers- Rosie won't be there, but Erin will be - another native Irish lassie. Where to eat?

St. Charles is too far away from me for me to have any good recommendations for the area, sorry! Now if ya'll were venturing in closer to Chicago or Naperville/Downers Grove area... I could help out! Well, OK, DW could help ya out LOL.
Where is Sushi? He might know some out that way...

Ya, it was good pie. How about a good steak joint close by. I attempted to talk everybody into going to LaScarola, but "that's too far". Spoil sport Wisconsin old fogies anyhow - stuck in their ways. Pizz me off.

This is for tomorrow night, right? If so when is the latest I can get info to you? If it is sometime tomorrow I might be able to tap DW's garden group, some of the guys are pretty familiar with the St. Charles area. And being basic guys like me, love a good steak! LOL.

If you like deep dish pizza the best is Lou Malnati's - nearest location Geneva Commons
1048 Commons Drive

5pm latest. Would appreciate any help. Don't really want to go to a chain restaurant.

You can try this one right in St. Charles for steaks, and they have a 'speakeasy' right upstairs that on occasion has live jazz music.

This was the recommendation for a place in St. Charles from one of the members of the group DW belongs to. He is close by the St. Charles area and does spend a fair amount of time there during the planting seasons (trees).
He said he was there during the day and they had a great lunch, he had the steak. He was not there during the evening so couldn't comment on the 'speakeasy' or bar aspect of the place.
Prices are considered mid range for the area.
