Hey, I just saw the title of this thread, "Poll Dance" are the first two words, this could be interesting. :yum:

I really did not mean to do that. What would you call that a Fraudian slip. :sorry:

I like to watch ballroom/latin also, but I faved the folk dancing. I guess I like to see the cultural side of things.

Get down, boogie oogie oogie...
Dare I admit that I once took disco swing lessons?
(And ballroom dancing in college, does that redeem me?)

I like to dance, from jerking like a fish on a string to waltzing, I don't care.
I'll watch it all, too! Especially tap, clogging/river dance, and tango!
Gene Kelly is my hero! :)

i have 2 left feet, and white guys' hips, so no dancing for me.

but i like to watch tap dancing, and occasionally i park in front of the alvin ailey dance theatre on 9th avenue on weekends, and i've gotten to watch african tribal dancing, and of course jazz/modern dance. neat stuff.

Belly dancing ...now that sounds interesting FM. I've only seen it in movies. I bet close up real life it would be even better. :thumb: so exotic! :D

My college roommate married a girl who is half Turkish and there was a belly dancer at the reception. It was fun but could have been a lot funner if she had been 15 years younger. LOL

I would have chosen all of the options, but I voted for ballroom. LOVE "Dancing with the Stars", and this season looks to be the best one yet!

Everyone was pretty good coming right out of the gate, except for Buzz Aldrin (but I respect him anyway!)

When I first began taking classes years ago, I only saw American dancers, who were generally thin and young. The first time I took a class from an Egyptian dancer, I was really surprised to see that she was pretty heavy and middle aged! She told us that a "generous belly" was appreciated in Arab countries, and as I met more foreign dancers, I found out this is true!

There is a dancer here in San Antonio who is extremely heavy and in her 50's. I took a workshop from her 30 years ago, when she was much thinner and younger, and she was an amazing dancer. But you know, she is still dancing professionally and has quite a following.

I can't dance but enjoy watching Salsa and some ballroom dancing. I also love to watch the Flamenco at dinner shows.

Here ya go: Flamenco in Riverdance! Maria Pages is amazing!

Theatre, ballet, film, The Rockettes, Rock 'N Roll. It's all good. I took ballet lessons as a kid. I'm a dancing fool. LOL

I adore Fred & Ginger...

I really enjoy watching ice dancing, the more throws and jumps the better. Ballroom dancing is great too, so elegant and fluid, but I hate how they don't look at each other. I was hooked on Dancing With the Stars for a while until they started having people who couldn't even begin to dance. I may have to give DWTS another chance since QSis says there is a good line-up this season.

Hahaaa. I've never heard that.

Or Tina...

OMG - although that youtube vid was posted in 2008 it looks like the same costumes from Tina in her "final" concert series in, ummm, 2001 or 2002 I think. If so, I was at the first concert of the series, at Wembly Stadium in London, with 3 black flight attendants none the less. Oh oh ohhhhhhhh what a night. We danced up a storm on the soccer field. I have the DVD video filmed that night - gotta check it out - rollin' on a river................ woo hoo

Thanks for the memories, CC

I just put on the DVD - Tina was wearing a black mini dress (for Proud Mary) at the concert I attended. Same song though, always superb.

That must have been quite a night... ummm concert. :brows::clap:
Wish I could have been there.

I watched a TV movie about her life (w/Ike) on VH1, called What's Love Got To Do With It? Excellent movie. Luved listening to all their music.

Don't take what I said the wrong way. Here's how it went down: Originally there were 4 FA's with the tickets and one got sick. The other three looked up the crews laying over in London that night, saw my name, and woke me up from a nap with an invitation to join them that evening, an invitation there was no way I was going to refuse. All three gals were friends of mine from having flown together numerous times and the visualization of me, with them, at that concert, was not to be denied. I've never been to a live concert that I didn't love, and this Tina Turner night was the best of all. I had always been a good Captain, treating my crew members with great respect, and this night the favor was returned - another memorable experience from a dream occupation.

I've been retired seven years this month and still I am asked if I "miss it". My answer is, and always has been, I miss my crews and the European layovers.
