Plum Kuchen
This is another recipe from my mom's old recipe file. You will need extra sweet butter than the recipe calls for to butter the pan.
Plum Kuchen
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
pinch salt
1/3 cup sugar
1 large egg
Topping Ingredients:
1 Tablespoon melted sweet butter
16 prune plums
1 large egg
1-2 Tablespoons sour cream
cinnamon and sugar
Directions:
Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. With hands, mix in one large egg and butter. Spread dough in a buttered 9 x 12-inch pan. Half the plums and remove the pits. Dip them in melted butter and place on top of the dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Beat the remaining large egg and sour cream together and drizzle over the top. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
