Peanut Butter and Mayonnaise Sandwich

This week, I learned that this sandwich is a thing - evidently more common in the South.

After a long week, I didn't feel like cooking tonight, so figured I'd give it a try.

Eh.

The flavor of the mayo isn't strong enough to match the strong flavor of the peanut butter, and I put quite a bit of mayo on there.

It was nothing special and I wouldn't make it again.

I'm southern and have never heard of that. While I really like PB and bananas, PB and apples, and will eat a PB and J, mayo and PB? Just no!

I brought up using Mayo on my specialty Peanut butter, Jelly, butter, and Mayo
on white bread. PLUS I added; you freeze it for 3 hours for total satisfaction.

I have unique tastes. I have liked PB and Miracle Whip for decades. Tried it when I was a teen when I was experimenting. It's a sour sweet combo. Better than PB and J to me.

I only have one once every couple months. Never tried it with sliced bananas but will give it a shot.

Had the same reaction. Mayo's way too mild against peanut butter. Think you'd need something with real acid or tang to work.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen – mayo just gets drowned out by the peanut butter. Wouldn't make it again either.

Just cut out the white bread
