Amen, brother. What a waste of TV time. It's become a platform for political views (left leaning at that) and has little to do with talent or real contribution to society.
 
We are flipping since Nascar keeps putting up a caution for "sprinkles"
I just think it funny to watch, lol
 
Buzz, most folks that I know either watch because they have seen the films and are are really into cinema or for the fashion. I fall into both those categories. However, it has been far too long since I have been to the movies. I need to remedy that.

Susan, I love good entertainment, but the various awards ceremonies are more like phonymonies to me. May the best peeps win.

I understand--I could do without all the self-aggrandizement as well--but some of those gowns are spectacular!!! lol

Indeed they are, whether they be the gowns themselves or the goons who wear them.... sorry, ha ha, couldn't help myself. I truly love great acting performances but they don't come often enough.
 
They saved the best for last. Jerry Lewis was awarded a special Oscar, called the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. His has raised over two billion dollars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He also has been given credit for inventing the video assist system. I am so happy that he was so honored.
