I dont and I shall tell you why. Athletes the represent their country 1/4 the time arent even from that country. Even when they are it sometimes comes down to how much money the country spent training and outfitting their team.

Am I wrong here???
And are crab apples REALLY apples??? :ohmy:
 
I've never been a fan of the Olympics regardless. Just not my idea of sports for the most part. I've also managed to not be forced to watch a single minute of them this year as even my wife hasn't insisted on watching this year.

Why doesnt SHE want to watch it either?

Furthurmore I would like to see a snowball fight. i would watch it!
 
I love watching both the winter and summer Olympics but I would like them to restrict the contestants to amateurs only.

Then the US won't have a chance at winning basketball, for instance, as most foreign national teams are 'pro' level.

I have no idea why my wife does anything partner, women are a mystery to me. I will venture a guess though, she is finally bored with it or she came around to my way of thinking after 46 years together, I doubt the last suggestion though.... :unsure:
 
Olympics winter and summer are the only sports i ever watch. and i agree that it should be the way it used to be ONLY AMATURES!! so tough luck USA won't win basketball or baseball or hockey. it should be amatures.

ok yes i care about the olympics...i do agree that it should be amatures in one respect but heck that would throw alot of countries out of alot of sports.. canada would be one of them...

our populaton is just a little more than that of the state of california...but we still produce alot of good hockey players:bb:

even a pro has to try out for the olympics and has to make the team on performance, not on name alone...

this is just an opinion from a proud Canadian that feels great that we finally won a gold metal on our homeground...WTG CANADA

hmmmmmmmmm well most athletes are in excellent shape but the men may not feel good about showing their ummmmmmmmmmm short comings. and i think i will pass on the sumo wrestling, wrestling, weight lifting et al. would LOVE to watch front row for the skating and gymnastics!! :brows: :alc:
