OHHH Keltin????????????

and you're gonna get your southern ass kicked if you don't let someone know you are okay!!

Seriously, please let us know you're okay:kiss:

I wrote him a pm Thursday...and he hasn't responded... very weird. Maybe he went on a wonderful tropical vacation!! :)

yeah, life get's in the way sometimes. The only reason we're worried is because Keltin in on everyday unless he says he gonna be doing something, but, he hasn't been on in almost a week.

Those of us who got pens have his address on the return part of the envelope. If he doesn't stick his head in here in another few days, we could all drop a post card, or a letter bomb to wake him up, or something.

But, Loralei's right, life does get in the way, sometimes.

I know he had some big deadlines looming from his publisher so I suspect he's been working non-stop. (But I sure will be glad when he checks back in.)

Wow! Hey guys!! I’m alive, and really missed you all! Nothing serious over here, just technical problems.

My ISP, Mediacom, is just wonderful. That was sarcasm!

I’ve always had problems with them. Well last week, I got sick and stayed home from work Wed, Thur, and Friday. Unfortunately, my ISP dropped dead Wednesday morning. The internet connection was dead, and the cable picture was extremely snowy and pixilated. I called and asked what the problem was, and they said there were 3 other complaints on my street, so there must be a line problem that they would fix within the hour.

Two hours later, and it was still out. So Thursday morning I call back, and they said the Techs were in the area and still working on it. So I waited. Nothing.

Friday I call them back, and they said that the Techs had fixed the other 3 complaints on my street and figured mine was fixed as well, so they closed the ticket. Damn! She then said she would open a new ticket and mark it hot. She said they would be out between 1 and 5 PM to fix it.

Come 6 PM, nothing, so I called them back. The lady I talked to this time noted that a new ticket had been opened, but the girl that did it screwed up the start date and put in 99/99/9999 (the default for their S/W) which means it never got routed to a Tech. She called 3 different dispatchers, and all Techs were on an outage call.

So, she gave me a $20 credit for the Tech missing my Friday 1-5 appointment and rescheduled.....for Monday (today). Meaning I was out all weekend as well. They got it fixed today at 11:30. Now, they owe me some money for being 5 1/2 days without service.

Man, you have no idea how much you rely on an ISP until it goes down! I lost Internet, Phone (Vonage), Roku, and got a really crappy TV picture. It sucked out loud!

But hey, I’m back now! And even if they didn’t get it fixed, at least I can still access NCT from work when I get time.....but it’s really busy here lately.

So, what have I missed. Looks like I have 11 pages of posts to f go through!

Man, it’s really good to be back! Lot’s of love to you guys!

Welcome back!! Yup, Fred is right they all pretty much suck! Mine has been missing the on screen guide for over three weeks and they still haven't fixed it!

I just switched to Direct TV and I've had to hit the reset every day to get the guide to propogate. They finally gave me another receiver, too. At least now I can preprogram, but still no guide when I want it.

Glad it was just a technical thing, Keltin - welcome back!

Welcome back Keltin. You had us all wondering what was up.
Good to see you back. Those long outages are hell.

Thanks guys! I missed all of you too! I’ve got contingency plans in place now, so if I ever go MIA, someone will know how to contact me in real life to see what is up.

I called Mediacom tonight and told them I wanted credit for the 5 1/2 days I was out of service. She clicked and clacked and finally said “I’m going to credit you for 5 Days service and…..”

I interrupted and said “No Ma’am, 5 and one HALF days; they didn’t fix it till Noon today”.

She ended up giving me 6 days credit!!

I figure if I keep hounding them for a credit every time I have the slightest outage, they won’t ever let my service go down again! They charge me enough for this, so I’m not paying for a single minute that I’m out again, and they will eventually get tired of me and make sure I get fast service! :yum:
