If you ever have some time to kill, and you haven’t read them, check out all of the OZ books by Baum. Most know The Wonderful Wizard of OZ, but there is much more. They are all public domain now and are listed in their entirety here.

The books are fairly short, and most can be read in one sitting.

Thanks for this, my 2nd eldest "eats" books...LOL...and I always struggle to come up with new books I think he'd love to read.

At first I thought you were talking about "Wicked," the Broadway play based on "The Wizard of Oz." Be careful about giving books by that author to kids - they're very different from the Frank Baum books. Lots of sex and violence.
