Now for the pilots and model builders check this out

I built plastic models up until my oldest kid started destroying them trying to play with them when pre-school age. I built everything from planes, ships, figures and cars but never in my wildest dreams did I think to build every part of an airplane out of metal and have it work to boot. Hell his 50mm gun bullets are over my head.

I built plastic models for years growing up, but they were kits. Was even a Model-A-Month subscriber. I've never built anything that complicated. Incredible!

That's cool I'm into old planes. A friend of mine has a Rubin H. Fleet 1929 biplane.

Wow! Dr. Park is one fine craftsman. The Corsairs and the P-51 are amazing.

Hey Guts, what's with the computer mouse hanging in front of the instrument panel in your buddy's biplane? Is it used to control the pilot in front? lol

I built U-con and R/C planes out of balsa wood as a kid but this is way beyond good craftsmanship. Bet some of his dental tools and skills are coming in hand for his projects.

those are amazing!!!

i was into model ship and airplane building, and always wanted to get into r/c.

none of my childhood creations survived past the 4th of july every year, though.

Oh, looks like a mouse. Why a GPS for a short range VFR aircraft?

Hey, it sort of looks like my X-Rite Chroma 5 PRO Colorimeter that I use to calibrate my TVs. lol

Gary has a partner on this plane in is kept just out side of St Louis, when he fly's it he is not as familiar as Jake. just a safety thing. I have a GPS& chart plotter on my boat and I have navigated in heavy fog between rock jetties. The newer GPS are extremely accurate mine is one meter satellite and land signal.

Okay, I can see airport ID and restricted airspace avoidance in a less than familiar area - makes perfect sense. As to accuracy though, umm, most people who have ever attempted much IFR flying in a needle/ball cockpit are, well, for the most part, not here anymore if you know what I mean?

Yes Gary has a IFR and Jake is a retired commercial jet pilot (TWA). Gary told me the GPS he uses is different than mine on my boat. They rebuild this plane together. Gary got it off a mountain top in Arizona in the late seventies. I not going to reply to any more about this biplane here, as I think I on the border of high jacking this thread. Buzzard if you would like to talk more about the biplane I would be happy top tell you more, of what I know about it. I have more pics. of it too.

Thanks joec, but I going to stand on what I said. I was taught to be a man of my word. And I think I have taken your thread off base. The link about Young C Park was a interesting read. I have a Model plane (gas powered) setting in my closet that has never been put together, it's a trainer plane. I may just get it out and put it together, but on the other hand it's been there for a long time... decisions...decisions... here is a video of one.

Not a problem Kim, all of the treads eventually get hijacked I know I've done it myself.

Yeah, Kim. It's not a problem for us, but then again it's your thread.
