The only thing I can think of is having something a little more mobile friendly. I know some sites have a sort of parallel site for mobiles, with the same stuff, but without the high bandwidth. I'm not sure if that's possible with our software...

Ahh the mobile interface ...possible and looking into it. There is a downside and that slowed me down from jumping on the bandwagon. I guess the only way to know if it's worthwhile is to install it and see what happens. It is a hack which means it's not supported and could impact site performance. Give me a week or so and I'll try to have a test version in place.

As for smilies in the quick reply, yes indeed you can. But you have to know the smilie representation for replacement. For example colon capital D = :D colon yum colon = :yum: colon hide colon = :hide:
I know some of the smilies have stupid test replacement names, if you have one you like point it out to me and suggest what it should be changed to and I'll change it for you.

Not really a suggestion; but, perhaps more of a question? Have had problems more recently w/ embedding. When I first came in around November, it worked fine (copy the embed link & paste in the post). Noticed that other members are not having same prob. Could it be a change in the format (sorry, lack of a better computerese word), or prob w/ my computer (OS, conflicting quick time etc)? Have noticed on other sites a Flash insert. Maybe I'm missing something/looking right at it. A spellcheck would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Last question first. Firefox has a built in spell check that works for all things web related. I'd be lost without it.

Please post and example of an embedded link that is not working for you, then I'll better be able to help you.

Here is an example.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wgTPH5y1-ZI&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wgTPH5y1-ZI&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
-----------
Here is the HTML:
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgTPH5y1-ZI[/ame]

After I added the html, the video shows. Very confused.

Ahhh, that is all you ever have to add is the HTML. The embedded software I have installed in VB works with that. :thumb:

I'e seen this on other sites and like it - how about a "View all posts in the Past 24 hours" feature. (And/or 48 and 72 hours, if possible.)

I agree. I'll often click on the new posts, get distracted and, when I come back, I can no longer see any of the threads that were previously loaded. It's also hard, sometimes, to find a recent post because it doesn't show up on the new posts link.

Ahh, we have that but it is called "today's posts" under the quick links tab. It gives you approximately 24 hours of posts.
