My mom smashes eggs in the potato ricer !

I didn't know where to post this; she doesn't have or want a food processor or chopper, but she likes to make herself egg salad and says the ricer smashes them up perfectly!

I think it's a mess to wash, but hey, it works for her ...

I've got a potato ricer and haven't used it in years. I still mash potatoes with the old style masher and use a food processor for eggs or a fork if 4 eggs or less.

She must like pretty smooth egg salad, but like you said, if it works for her.

I think I'd use the chopper that I'm looking froward to getting this winter. It's certainly a lot less to wash then a ricer !
