OK, so I don't have a name for it yet, LOL. I took a recipe for Calico Beans and changed it all up to make it mine. I added a lot of ingredients it didn't have, and switch to only pork n beans instead of the 5 different kinds it originally called for. Here it is:
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
1 lb bacon (IE one package I prefer smoked or maple flavor)
1 medium onion
6 cans pork n beans
4 tsp vinegar
1 cup ketchup
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp mustard
1 tsp liquid smoke flavoring
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
In dutch oven heated to about medium high add ground beef, bacon cut up into 1/4 inch squares, and onion diced medium to small. Stir and cook until meat is browned and cooked and onions are caramelized. Drain off some of the fat, but not all. Add in rest of ingredients and remove to indirect heat to simmer for 30 minutes at least. I like to let it go for an hour or more. The longer it goes the more the ingredients mix up and it thickens up.
That's it, and a favorite with the kids. For us adults, goes great with a beer!
