Kai Shun Mandolin Professional Slicer on sellout.woot.com

That is very nice-but 250$ nice? I realize you get what you pay for,but geez that seems like an awful lot!

I'd run it by the accounting dept (aka Mrs SK) but I'm sure she'll remind me of the other 2 mandolines I bought and rarely use!! Hey what can I say-I like using my knives!

The Shun Mandolin is excellent and probably the best out there but I like most can't justify the cost. I use a < $20 Benriner that you can buy replacement blades for at most restaurant supply places though they are cheap enough to just replace the whole thing. It does work great too and probably most restaurants have them in their kitchens.
