As of last week, I am officially a dual citizen of the USA and the Republic of Ireland. I received my citizenship papers, and almost immediately sent in my application for an Irish passport.

It took just over 11 months to get the citizenship, should take 6-8 weeks for the passport. The long term plan is to retire to the EU.

Of all of my friends with Irish ancestors, you are THE most Irish! :lucky::patty:

I've got some Irish in me also, but my last name ( and yours) speaks for itself.
Enjoy your time once you get there Kathy.
I loved all of the UK and miss it dearly.
