I'm Irish!

As of last week, I am officially a dual citizen of the USA and the Republic of Ireland. I received my citizenship papers, and almost immediately sent in my application for an Irish passport.

It took just over 11 months to get the citizenship, should take 6-8 weeks for the passport. The long term plan is to retire to the EU.

I've got some Irish in me also, but my last name ( and yours) speaks for itself.

I was notified today that my passport has been printed and dispatched. They provided a tracking number.

I mix up what I know of French and Spanish all the time, and I studied them for 4 years and 2 years, respectively. The little bit of German that my grandfather taught me as a child is long gone. I don’t think I manage Gaelic!

Ditto. Six years French and 1 year so far of Spanish. I keep lapsing into French.
