Last week a 14 foot Burmese python was spotted on the edge of one of our golf courses about a half mile from the house, and today a cougar was seen right in my neighborhood. It looks like this chicken will be sleeping with the doors closed tonight. :huh::eek::shock:

Oh man, lucky you! Cougars are HOT!!!!

Uh.....wait......different animal. :yum::yum::yum::yum::yum:

Honestly, Buzz, your house is lovely, but the location????

Meet me in St. Louis. ;-)

I like to leave the doors open at night. The mockingbirds are nesting and they start singing/chirping/squawking and all the other noises they make about 3 AM and don't quit. I like that, but I don't believe I want any panthers wandering around the house - or big snakes.

buzz, i've been reading about all of the problems with invasive exotic species in florida.

i guess it's getting pretty bad. we didn't buy a beautiful house on 11 acres a few years ago because there were bears around, but giant snakes and predatory cats? no way.

Well, we actually DO live in a jungle. Or at least it WAS a jungle until about 20 years ago when it was cleared. But no pythons and no cougars here. We do have giant iguanas running around in our yard and trees, but fortunately, they are herbivores. Yikes, Buzz!

Maybe it was the fish you posted that they were looking for. You think?

:bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk:

Don't worry! they don't eat much! :picnic:

We have iguanas too. They help the lawn service guys keep the weeds down.

Yesterday I was fishing a golf ball out of the water (couldn't have been mine - LOL) and came within 6 or 7 feet of stepping on a cottonmouth. That 7 feet transitioned into about 20 in one big ass leap. :whistling:

DO NOT screw around with a cottonmouth. Those ****ers hurt when they bite. And can kill you if they get a good dose of venom in you.
