I need a bit of encouragment... :(

My nerves are a bit frayed tonight......and I'm running out of ways to keep myself distracted and not allow myself to over react.

My husband ALWAYS calls me or IM's me online EVERYDAY between 11 am and the latest 1:30pm, the very very latest after 3....he hasn't contacted me at all today :(
I'm trying to not think of any worst case scenarios but...this is very unlike him. I have poured through any head lines I can find on Iraq and found nothing that sounds like it might pertain to where he is, but I don't know how soon they might release stories to the media if an incident did occur...?

Thank you for listening, just needed a shoulder/shoulders to lean on while I play this waiting game :(

That has got to be so very hard :(. Hang tight....he'll contact you, and you'll be able to breathe a sigh of relief.

Hang in there. He could very well be on a mission and not able to reach a computer. Our minds automatically go to the worst, but don't jump to conclusions. When he does contact you, and all is well, tell him we all thank him :)

What provider is he using. I use T-Mobile, and their whole network went down today for 4 hours or more. It seems to be back up now, but if they had international problems as well, they are likely to fix that last.

Also, never forget things like a dead batteries, technical difficulties on site, and special training maneuvers where the soldiers wouldn't have access to online equipment until the exercise is over.

That's what I was thinking - trouble with his internet access. Just hang around here till he is able to get back in touch, Dee. I won't tell you not to be scared because I would be, too, no matter what anyone said. But we can at least distract you till you get a message from him.

I don't know what provider he is with I always assumed it was some internet company they have there....
He's not in the Military so I know its not any training missions or such.He works for a private co.
They usually have regular work days at most having short meetings in the evening but he always finds a moment to hop online to check in and give me any heads up if he is not able to talk like usual.
The only thing I can hope for is that the internet is down.....
I guess I have become spoiled that we are able to talk so easily on a regular basis, many are not as fortunate, but the downfall to being so fortunate is the second something changes you feel like something is wrong.

Thanks for letting me vent. Just going a little stir crazy and it hasn't helped that my daughter seems to be testing me tonight.....

The Blackberry network (RIM) was also down for 3-4 hours today. I don't know if that's the same as the T-Mobile Keltin mentioned but the backlog once they got it back up could be quite long.

Hope you hear from him soon!

By all means keep your hopes up, my middle son was a Navy Seal during the first Gulf War and part of the groups that took the off shore drilling rigs. Son number 3 was with the 82nd Airborne the first in and last out during the same war. Both came back safely but though they tried to keep in contact on a regular basis it wasn't always possible. His odds of getting hurt due to violence is greater in your home town than in a war environment and that is just fact. The streets in the US are more dangerous than anything in any war zone even WWII.

There are a lot of shoulders here for you to lean on, Dee. Like others have said, it's probably just a problem with the internet.

You have the attention of us all, Dee. Let us know when you hear something and that he is safe. Having spent time in war zones I can tell you it is sometimes impossible to communicate outside the mission. A habit pattern has been broken and you are understandably concerned but don't let it get you down. Live your life, stay strong, and let us know when you hear from DH.

Well I just spoke to him!!!! And it was blasted THUNDERSTORMS that cut off their internet access!! OY Vey what a night! :( I fell asleep for an hour at about 1am then I was woken up by my daughter then wasn't able to return to sleep till about 6:30 because I couldn't turn off my brain!!

But anyways he is SAFE! :D :D Thank you for caring :) {{{{hugs}}}}}}}

Dee, I am sorry that I missed this post but I am so grateful for the happy ending. I have had Percy in my prayers ever since you told me where he was heading off to---try not to always go to the worst case scenario--it will make you sick. Try to think positive thoughts. Often, communication systems go down due to weather especially in the Middle East.

Awww Dee, I wasn't on yesterday so I'm just now seeing this. You should have called me.......
I'm so glad things are okay with Percy. I'm sure your heart was skipping a couple beats there for awhile. Get some rest hun.......

Yes I am very very relieved, I don't even care that I am tired as hell, its just wonderful to have my mind at ease :)
Thanks everyone for letting me fret to you like a nervous mother hen ;) Not really anyone here I can go to for that....

I'm so glad it was the internet connection, Dee. I would have been worried sick, too! I hope you have rested up now, sweetie.

actually no I haven't, last night I got just as little sleep but this time it was due to pregnancy symptoms :( But thats ok I would MUCH rather that than to be worried for Percy! I'm sure tonight will be better....I hope! ;)

I remember that - heartburn and sore back and leg cramps and baby dancing on your bladder. Thank heavens you get a baby at the end or it would never be worth it, huh?

Yep you nailed it! I have that RLS (restless leg syndrome) and major heart burn/acid reflux......this kid better be cute!! lol ;)
