I just about passed out when I told him that he wanted to come home and that it wouldn't cost too much to get him and for once he didn't start yelling, "hell no"
he just said, he'll cost more when he gets here with electric, water etc..........

Careful what you wish for TG. The last of my kids that stayed with me I passed a simple rule, I'm not sleeping with you, you are not staying so that means no one ever stays with me again. That is unless they are an easy woman that is quit so they don't wake my wife.

My oldest son and his family live in Washington State. I spent 4 days at #2 son's house in NC right after last Christmas. I hadn't seen him in the last 10 years. So I have an idea but just keep in mind that I'm a man and though we love our kids, once they get of age it is time for them to make a life of their own.
Now I will shut up as I sure didn't want to rain on your parade.

I know what you're saying and get the same way. I will be ready for him to go before too long too, but, I want him where I can see him when I want, that's all. My family is very close and it's really hard to have him so far away. He's also the one that stands between me and dh when the fights start. He's my hero!

You are lucky to get to see your son.
My eldest lives in Akron and is a cop. I only get to see him but 4-5 times per year, but we talk weekly on the phone.
My younger son is married to a woman who has NEVER liked me, oh.. unless I shelled out $$$$ to them for a house, cars.. etc...
She's solely responsible for driving a wedge between myself and him.
However, I know one day he'll see the light.

As for the other, I'm sorry you don't get to see him too often. Be glad that he has a career and is doing well. When mine was working, I was happy and it didn't bother me so much that he wasn't here. I missed him, but, I knew he was going good and I wasn't going to ruin that, but, he's having a hard time finding a job and his depression is back and I know he is really home sick right now, SO, he needs to come home, right, lol
