its been awhile I have missed you guys but have not checked in in honestly the one thing i have not been doing lately is cooking. But heres an update. I have been sucked in by local drama by joining my long time adversaries on the neighborhood zoning committee and been elected to the board of our local community development corporation which makes me exhausting involved in community stuff. Which ultimately has been a good distraction from the story that My brother, who you who know me know, is the bane of my existence and my best friend quit his job and headed west I am pissed at him but at some point you need to love people for who they are and considering history he is OK and his choices are his own not mine. At least he is alive and free to make them.
last time I checked in I was stressed about the upcoming auction of the lot next to my house. Good news is I won (at a cost) auction in May, settled in June and picked up the deed a week ago. Now I am finally starting to take ownership of it. Here is a pic of my fence modifications. The builder of the modern houses next door had put up the left hand side portion of the fence. I had an old chain link one. Added pickets to the existing because my chi could slip through and built out the rest. I think I will stain the gate a red for contrast. Yes, thats my itty bitty little brick house tucked back behind the huge cherry tree which despite its massacre from the builder produced an amazing bounty yet again.
In other news I added Suggs the kitten to my brood a few weeks ago (some kids were trying to excess a kitten at 11pm and I was drunk) He is a feisty one and starting to adjust to his new home. The dogs are big fans but my resident mean-old-cat is not yet enamored. She makes horrible gremlin sounds at him but he seems undeterred so hopefully they will learn to coexist. Here he is waiting for Tiger to finish drinking
and eating from Chickens bowl
so that's about it for me and that I managed to be so long winded with a kitten attacking the keyboard amazes me. good to see you friends and hope to be around more soon.
