Fun Facts about Fast Food

Fast food is full of surprises! Here are some fun and unexpected facts that I learned and decided to share with you.

  • McDonald’s is the world’s biggest toy distributor. McDonald's gives away more toys than any actual toy store with its Happy Meal.

  • Wendy’s was the first fast-food chain with a drive-thru! Back in 1970, Wendy’s introduced the “Pick-Up Window,” which was the first concept to grab a burger on the go.

  • The Big Mac wasn’t even named by McDonald's - A 21-year-old secretary at the company came up with the name, and now it’s one of the most famous burgers ever.

  • Taco Bell once sent a taco into space - Just because they could.

  • Japan celebrates Christmas with KFC! It’s a full-blown tradition to order a bucket of KFC for Christmas dinner in Japan, thanks to a clever 1970s marketing campaign.

  • Wendy’s Frosty recipe is still a secret. Very few people know the actual full recipe and it hasn't changed much since 1969.

  • French fries weren’t actually French - They were first made in Belgium. but American soldiers in WW I called them “French Fries” because the Belgian soldiers spoke French.

  • The first fast-food restaurant? White Castle! It opened in 1921, selling burgers for just 5 cents each.

How many of these facts do you already know? Which of these surprised you the most?

I knew that French fries were not invented in France. Others I didn't.
McDonald's left Sri Lanka last year after some dispute with the local agent.

I'm betting the moderation was to remove her links. One more person posting to the food forums to get people to click their YouTube and TikTok links.

At least this one had some interesting tidbits, but it should have been under the well-established thread "Did You Know

No that is not the reason. Did You Know thread was already very long so the admin changed the title. It did not have any links in it. You just lost your bet :)

Yes I did. I wanted to merge it into our 'Did you know' thread but I could not do that. So the next best option was to change the thread title. She had titled it "Did You Know". To avoid confusion i changed it to what it is now.

I think that some threads can be merged. I'm not sure how it works.
Options aside, at least the Xenforo text is bigger than that's in vBulletin. Lol
