Eggplant Fries at Bell in Hand, Boston

The Bell in Hand in the Haymarket section of Boston, is one of 3 or 4 places that claim to be the "oldest bar in Boston".

It's old, it's charming, it's comfortable, and it's worth a visit.

A friend and I ordered cheeseburger sliders (they gave us four instead of the advertised three) which were pretty good, and a basket of eggplant fries that were out of this world!

Crispy, but much lighter than french fries, with the gentle flavor of eggplant. One of the best pub food dishes I have ever ordered!

I ALMOST want to make some!

I like the idea of eggplant "fries." You reminded me of a recipe I posted for portobello fries. I'll bump it up, as I think it can be adapted for same.
