This is a fave of mine... in part because it's the easiest soup you'll eve make!
2 cans white/great northern beans
2 cups milk
1 cup cooked diced/chopped ham
salt & pepper to taste
parsley for garnish
I usually warm the ham first to get some of that good pork fat into the pan then just dump in the milk and beans. If you want thicker soup (stoup?) then do not drain the beans. If you want thinner soup the do drain them. I prefer it nice and think poured over cornbread. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer for 20-30 minutes. Remember it will thicken some as it cools and if you still want it thicker then smash a few of the beans.
