Easy Fried Dill Pickles

Fried Dill Pickles

If you can get 'em to taste, they
will eat 'em !!
Serves 4

1 cup Flour
1/2 tsp. sweet paprika
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon Black pepper
1/2 cup milk
1 Egg
1 1/2 cups Dill pickle slices, thin
Canola Oil for frying


Mix the flour, Paprika, salt, and pepper in
a bowl. Lightly whip the
egg in a separate bowl. Add the
milk to the egg. Heat the
oil (about 2 inches in a deep skillet, or in your deep fryer) to 325. Dip
the pickle slices first
into the flour, then the egg
mixture, and finally back into
the flour. Carefully place the
pickles into the hot oil. Do
not overcrowd. Fry until golden
brown (about 6 minutes),
turning once. Drain on paper
towels. Serve warm, with a few dipping sauces...
(ranch, horseradish, and a mild Queso are my choices !)

I LOVE fried pickles, Lucky!!! I've never made them, but yours look terrific!

I may just give them a try - thanks!

I love, love, love fried pickles but have only had them twice, both in a bar, and neither anywhere near me. I'll have to see about making my own.

I am a big fan of fried pickles too!
And lucky me... they are a regional favorite,
offered in many of the local restaurants. :) :)

Yeah, all the years I tried to make them, I never
once thought about thin slicing. So I never had good results.

These are great but if you work in a place that makes them it will drive you crazy. You can bust through a five gallon bucket a day. It's crazy!
 
I've always wanted to try these, but very few restaurants around here offer them. And husband isn't a pickle fan, even in their pure form. Maybe I just need to try making a batch up for myself. :)

I'm gonna have to try making that for my dh. I'll bet he will like them.

Luckytrim, I see the recipe states to deep fry the pickles at 325 degrees.
Is this temp correct? Should the temp be a bit hotter than 325?

I answered you the last time, in the "What's Cooking" thread... guess you missed it .

I don't have a candy thermometer ; I just test the oil with a pickle, and that's not failed me.... that being said, I've seen recipes that call for 325, 350, and 375 degrees...
