some OT stuff- have yinz got early-on sweeeet memories.......
now, my Mom says i cannot remember this. i countered that i distinctively remember- i luved those shoes & would wear them today. if they fit.

my bro remembered 'em, too.

this began due to a discussion over raynin's mary jane's & my Mom saying i was 18 mos. when i took my 1st steps, whereas my niece was barely 10 months. (how i dote on that precious baby-luv!)

conversation turned to how old i was before my Mom got me sneakers rather than those old shoes u used to bronze; i was just too teeny to stroll @ a normal age. too spindly. doctor said i'd make my own way in my own time.

so she said she bought me shoes- strawberry shortcakes shoes. i went on to describe them, & my brother agreed/emphasized- pastel pink canvas, w/ her emblem on the sides, velcro, & she said i could not remember those shoes. um, yeah. u can remember shoes before u hit 1 & 1/2. geez, i remember my first blanky, birth gift pillow, my portable crib, my earrings & jeans & duckie & dresses & carseat & cups & i remember learning to read sans pre-school.

anyone else wanna offer thier 1st memories of the good stuff~

food, non-food, anything.......

btw, some of this, i was like, i can't remember that. then i thought. yeah, i rememembered. from 1-2-ish. amazing the things u can think of if u just relax, smile, & reminisce, geez, i can hear the muusic my Dad played. i hear my namesake song: bread's aubrey.

Hmmm, well I was probably 3 years old and I remember sitting at the top of the stairs in my house, and my mother coming up the stairs with what I thought was a hypodermic needle. I was terrified and crying (screaming, to be honest).

She was holding an oral thermometer and just wanted to take my temperature.

I think that is my earliest memory.

mine was getting into an old dodge car where you didnt need the key to take it out of gear...putting it into gear and going backwards down the slight hill of the driveway...i said to my little brother in diapers that we were going for a ride... we went for a ride and my butt was sore..lol

laughing @ the though of bam's coaster ride in the dodge. & lee, awwww. maybe i remembered stuff way early on. i still get mad when my Dad insists i was reading at 2. i say i was 'bout 3! hehe.

so i'm figuring Mom/Dad taught u not to drive until u were 16 that day, huh, :)

My earliest memory is when I was 4 years old. We had a large white, german shepard dog in the back yard and this dog would run all over the yard like a horse with me on his back. Then one day I fell off and hit my lower lip on a rock that broke the skin just below my lip and I can remember sitting on the table at the doctors office having stitches put in. 4 stitches to be exact.

When I was REALLY short, I remember walking into a hydrant and cutting my eyelid on it.

My mother put a red band-aid on the cut. Everyone made a big deal about my injury and what a brave girl I was - I felt like a war hero.

Maybe that's how people develop hypochondria.
