I got busy with something & forgot to take the dough out of the machine :oops:so here it is baked in the machine.

Next time I will be more attentive.

That said it sure is one fine tasting hunk of bread.:thumb:

Man, Carolina, just the NAME of the bread is making my mouth water!

I will eat just about anything with dill in it!

Is that a prepackaged mix or do you have a recipe you could share?

lol it came from right here. Not sure what thread. I think I told Mama I copied her bread machine recipes & someone posted it. Drews Dill Bread.
I can search it.

I have to use a BM I have carpal T & there is no way I can hand knead.

I don't like the baked finish of BM bread , it is shaped odd to say the least. Plus my machine has only 1 paddle stir thing lol If I want to upgrade $100 I can have 2 paddles. I can live with the 1..:)

I haven't ever used a pre mix, I find them kinda pricey.

I do know this recipe make a nice loaf. It must be the cottage cheese & sour cream. 2 items I have not used in bread making before.

here's a recipe for the bread machine but you can make it in a mixer, also.
I have it scaled out to grams but I'm not going to post that recipe because it just seems to confuse everyone

CC I sometimes use a bread machine to make this but most of time I use the mixer and make two loaves. Glad you tried it and I bet you'll make it again. Am I wrong? It sure makes the house smell great too.

Joe if you look here at reply number 34 you'll see the recipe I am going to repost this recipe in the bread section of this forum.

haha another faster them me type.. I giter done but I am late to the game. :D

yes that bread is good, I have been picking dill seed out my teeth tho. :yum:

I find the KA mixer to much work for me. Bread machine I dump , err excuse me , I place (LOL) all ingred in the BM, hit start.

I thought that loaf was big :brows: Next time I will be more watchfull of my beep hearing & get the dough out before it bakes.

I don't have 2 bread pans the same size . That I need to address.. Plus none of them have sizes on them .

Now I have to eat this awesome loaf of bread.

BTW
I didn't do it in that order.

I put the wet in first.

then the dry. The yeast at the end in a little dip in the flour.

It turned out really nice too. In fact its the best loaf that has baked in my BM.

CC if I make the dough in the bread machine and then transferred to pans I wait until after the second need and then divide the dough stretch and shape for the pans and let the bread rise in the pans. When it is appropriate bake them. I set my oven for 375 to 400°F bake 20 min. Then I. Cover the pan with a tent of aluminum foil which I have made before hand to make the aluminum foil tent I just take a piece of aluminum foil lay it over the top of the bread pan and slowly insert another bread pan trim the edges of the aluminum foil about an inch bigger than the pan. Then you have your aluminum foil tent, which can be put over the top of your cooking bread. After 20 min. and cook another 20 min. total. Cook time is 40 min.±

I scanned the front cover of the recipe book that DAK put out with this recipe and it. To my knowledge this is the first time this recipe was published, but I'm not positive of that. I also scanned up original recipe page here they are.

you know it's been a long time since I looked at this original recipe, I see that under the four-hour method in the recipe. It has a note see page 32. So I scanned at page 32 and would recommend using their method for oven baking, which is a little different than mine. I cook a little hotter and with a tent. So here is page 32 of how to cook your bread machine bread in the oven.

BTW (by the way) this recipe book was given out by DAK all you had to do was call a 800-number and they would mail you the book for free as they were trying to sell their bread machine. I don't believe these are available anymore. If anyone wants more recipes out of the book I could scan them up for you and post them here. All you have to do is ask. Thank you and good luck this Drew's famous onion dill bread is absolutely one of the best friends I've ever had. I've even made it into hamburger buns and boy let me tell you that is one of the best hamburger buns you'll ever eat in my opinion.
