Dinner Thread - Sunday March 29 to Saturday April 4 2026

This is from the batch of chili I'd made about a month ago.
Still have another container in the freezer.
I added a slice of Sargento white cheddar and mixed it around to melt.

What cut of meat do you use for stroganoff? Mine always turns out tough and chewy 😩
I usually use Filet. But, I don't make it often, so I figure it is worth it to us. On a very rare occasion, I have used Sirloin. But, I don't cook it long. Just a quick browning. I sauté the mushrooms (with garlic powder) first and remove them, then chopped onion and the sliced beef. Then comes the sour cream, basil and pepper. Add the mushrooms back, done!
 
We are going to Tim’s Diner tonight. Burgers?
The portions were huge! They brought out grilled (teriyaki and basalt vinegar) sprouts by mistake and they were quite good. I had the blue cheese bacon burger and wasn't disappointed. Nancy had a bacon cheese burger and salad bar. Her burger was huge as well. She thought it was greasy but then we only buy 7% fat burger.
