Dinner Thread Sunday April 12 ➡️ Saturday April 18 2026

I'm trying a new recipe. It is a sheet pan meal for Lemon Butter Garlic Shrimp and Asparagus. I think we'll have baked taters too.

One of my co-workers was nuking her lunch and it smelled unbelievably good, so I asked her about it. She used a seasoning that she just bought on her baked chicken. My other co-worker bought a bottle of it for herself and me and I tried it tonight on a boneless chicken breast that I seared on a cast iron pan.

Now, I need another seasoning like a hole in the head, but it is delicious!

We love Kinders seasonings!

I bought 2 small pork shoulders (3 lbs each) today. One went into the crockpot and the other into the freezer.

Pulled pork tacos using soft corn tortillas with Monterey jack cheese, shredded red cabbage and carrots, lime crema, fresh tomato salsa, and generous splashes of Chipotle Tabasco sauce, which I recently discovered and have fallen in love with.

Oh I used some of the juice and fat from the crockpot to pan fry the tortillas and melted the cheese on them in the pan. They were really good. I had sliced some avocado but forgot to put it on the tacos, lol.

Thanks so much! Have you ever tried Chipotle Tabasco? I am not a fan of really spicy, I like a little heat, and this Chipotle Tabasco is a mellow heat with a lovely smoky flavor. It's not vinegar forward and hot like regular Tabasco. I discovered it when I was at my brother's house in Texas back in February for 3 weeks. They had a small sample size unopened bottle (they had never tried it either) and I opened it to use on some tacos while there, and just wow. We all became obsessed!

I found some t-bones yesterday for $6.99 lb, couldn't believe it! They were 2-packs, so I bought 2 packs, picking out the ones with the largest filet sections, which were quite generous. Today I sliced out the filet mignon parts and took the strip side off, then put the bones and trimmings in the crockpot for an Italian ragu. We had the filet mignons for dinner, strip will be steak sandwiches Monday.
